Vernon Jubilee Hospital did not score well in a recent survey of patient satisfaction after using the emergency department. Interior Health surveyed patients at its seven biggest hospitals. Penticton Regional came in first at 92 percent satisfaction, Kelowna General was next at 89.4% , East Kootenay Hospital was 89.2%, Shuswap Lake was 87%, Royal Inland 86 %, Cariboo Memorial 86, and Vernon was last at 84 percent, just slightly lower than the provincial average of 86. The data was collected between Nov 2009 and April 2010. I-H says many strategies have started over the last year to improve patient satisfaction which they target for 90 percent. On a related matter, 84 percent of patients at all seven facilities rated their overall experience in the ED, as positive.
DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)
