Volunteers at the Upper Room Mission are working hard to ensure Vernon's less fortunate have a place to go and a warm meal. Bobbe MacKenzie has been volunteering at the Mission for more than ten years. She says during that time it's gone from about 40 to 200 people a day. She says on Thanksgiving volunteers actually had to cook turkeys in their own ovens, because the facility is in such need of a kitchen renovation. MacKenzie says this month they're celebrating their 30th anniversary with a fundraiser to renovate their kitchen. You can help and it won't cost you a cent.
