RCMP will be after more city funding to keep a popular youth program running. The Jean Minguy Memorial Youth Academy is a one week work experience program held at the Army camp for regional students, interested in a career in law enforcement. RCMP Superintendent Reg Burgess says in a letter to council, it costs 35-thousand dollars to run the course for 40 cadets. He's asking the city to add an extra 6 thousand dollars to the RCMP budget to support the academy. Burgess says if enough funding can be secured, the students fee could be kept to around 200 dollars. Mounties are also seeking funds from other municipalities, the Mounted Police Association and service clubs.
DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)
