Improvements are going to be made to help improve safety for people who use public transportation in Vernon. Vernon-Monashee MLA Eric Foster, says "Transit service in Vernon is growing in popularity, thanks to many new improvements including service to the University of BC – Okanagan campus." Foster says, "This new funding will help make transit even more attractive and encourage many more residents to choose transit and leave their cars at home. Along with making transit more appealing these upgrades will also increase commuter safety at transit stops." $61,400 will be spent on new signage, paved pullouts and bus shelter upgrades. Construction and paving will begin soon to avoid poor weather.
