Beefcake calendars have been a popular fundraising tool for fire departments across North America for decades. However, Kamloops Fire Rescue had never really joined the action, so to speak. Until now. The department’s 2010 calendar is now on sale, with all proceeds going to the Royal Inland Hospital and the B.C. Professional Firefighters’ Burn Fund. The calendar was the brainchild of former firefighter and current city councillor Jim Harker and was spearheaded by KFR firefighter Ryan Cail. Cail said every penny from calendar sales will go to charity.
