MP on the job battling for Volunteeer Fire Credit ?

On Nov 23 I e-mailed My Local M.P. Colin Mayes to express my support for the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs’ (CAFC) proposal to introduce a $3,000 income tax credit for volunteer firefighters. (Form e-mail can be found at http://givefirefighterscredit.ca/en/write/ ) (while there also sign the petition)

On nov. 26 I received this response: "Thanks for the email.  A few months ago I brought this matter to the attention of Minister Flaherty and am attaching his response.  Once again, thank you for bringing your concerns to my attention. "  MP Colin Mayes

The reply from the Minister seems to indicate significant concerns with the proposal in his mind. Our local MP has raised the issue with his cabinet colleague but has not yet indicated his support if a vote on this matter ever came before him on the floor of the House of Commons.
