Eric Foster Surprised by Sudden Resignation of Premier -Vernon-Monashee MLA says there was no sign Gord Campbell planned to quit
Vernon-Monashee MLA Eric Foster says he was on a heli-jet on the way to Vancouver Wednesday when Premier Gordon Campbell announced he was stepping down. Foster admits he was taken completely by surprise. Campbell made the surprise announcement in Vancouver after seeing his poll numbers plunge over opposition to the harmonized sales tax. Campbell says he's calling on the Liberal party to hold a leadership convention as soon as possible to find a replacement for him. Foster insists no one within the party has been making a move to become the next leader. He says Campbell is putting the province first and obviously believes his resignation is ``the best thing to do for the people of British Columbia.''

On a heli-jet?????
Hope he was paying for it. Know he wasn't. Whatsamatta, Eric? Don't like flying Westjet with the great unwashed?
Seriously, the press release doesn't say that Gordo is resigning. It says that he is calling for a leadership convention and makes no mention of whether he intends to let his name stand for leader. Watch him clarify after the caucus toady's start begging him to stay tomporrow morning.
I think he's checking to see who comes forward for the job before he rules out a run at it.
Foster and his comments are so foolish
I agree..Foster's comments are inane. I wonder who's shoes he will be shining next!
