Okanagan Shuswap NDP members will gather March 20th to choose their new candidate for the next federal election. "While I will not be the candidate, I am still actively involved and look forward to working on the campaign", stated Alice Brown who placed second in the last three federal elections. "Being a candidate was a tremendous experience for me. I met and became friends with people throughout the riding."
Those seeking the nomination must be party members for at least the 90 days prior to the convention making December 20th the deadline for prospective candidates. Information on the process for becoming a candidate is available from the local NDP office in Vernon. Information on becoming a member is available on the BC NDP web site.
