Man Arrested In College Fire

A man is in custody and faces arson charges, after a string of fires in Coldstream, the afternoon of Christmas Eve. In a story first reported by KISS FM Friday, RCMP say a garbage bin fire at the Okanagan College Kalamalka campus damaged a nearby wall before it was extinguished by a security guard.  About a half hour later, Coldstream firefighters were also alerted to a debris pile on fire near the railway tracks, and some straw bales used to control erosion on Pointe Sage Drive were torched. It adds up to thousands in damage--the suspect will be in court sometime next week.  Police used a service dog to track the suspect.  His age and name are not being released at this point.
