This program, administered by the Social Planning Council for the North Okanagan/Seniors Information and Resource Bureau, allows people to nominate a neighbour as a ‘Snow Buddy’ to show their appreciation for having received help shoveling their snow. Nominees are eligible to win one of five $100 cash prizes, sponsored by the City of Vernon. The City of Vernon budget included $500.00 for this program, the unspent portion of which will be carried over to next year.

Why not levy fines on those that do not clear their sidewalks-and what has this foolish communities in bloom got to do with this-other than waste money!
