Coldstream is still trying to hold the line on it's budget.

zero point seven percent (0.7%) He tells KISS FM, "There were some cost increases that have to be absorbed so there's going to be cuts made in different areas to make up that difference so that it remains at point-seven percent." And the district is also looking at the smoke free outdoor public places issue. Garlick says they've told staff not to waste time creating a bylaw, but rather look at existing ones. He says it has to be realized it's really an educational exercise, as enforcement would be very difficult. Vernon council took no action on the request for a bylaw, deciding just to receive the information from the BC Heart and Stroke, and BC Lung associations.
