Greater Vernon Water among most expensive in Valley.

The chart on the left shows where the Greater Vernon Residential Average Water Customer stands when the 2011 recently passed water rates are applied.

The various water users Utilities in the Valley are those as included in the report to the GVSC committee that decided on the water rates for 2011.

The average water customer is described as one who uses 350 m3 of water per annum. (Broken down by quarter: 35-84-195-36). His water rates will be going up by $91.96 {19.14%}.

The Low end user who used 20m3 of water per quarter or 80m3 of water per annum will see his rates going up by $95.32 or 47.5%.

This rates bylaw has been approved and recommended at the GVSC Committee level and will be going to the NORD board for final approval in early March. (see below for original rates proposal)

That it be recommended to the Board of Directors that Greater Vernon Water Utility Rates Imposition Bylaw No. 2490, 2011 be given First, Second and Third readings; and further
That Greater Vernon Water Utility Rates Imposition Bylaw No. 2490, 2011 be Adopted.

We are almost the most expensive already and many more dollars need to be spent on the system,which no doubt,will make us the most expensive in BC.We need a public enquiry to look into the management and board of Greater Vernon Water

Most expensive already on sewer, why not add water to the mix.
Time to wake up, taxpayers. Demand accountability for years of mis-management.
