Recall campaign for B.C. MLA dead in the water

The campaign to unseat Ida Chong appears to be dead, after collecting just over half of the signatures required to recall the BC Liberal MLA.  Just one day before the Feb. 4 deadline, Fight HST campaigners in Oak Bay-Gordon Head have gathered just 8,818 out of 15,368 signatures needed to trigger a by-election. Last month, Elections BC approved a second recall campaign against Comox Valley MLA Don McRae. That campaign will have until March 11 to collect 19,000 signatures.
