Chris Baryla is entering this week's Nationwide Tour event with a little extra motivation. The golfer from Vernon has pledged to donate $1,000 plus half of his tournament earnings from the Chitimacha Louisiana Open to the Canadian Red Cross in support of the relief efforts in Japan. ''I believe it's important to use my position as a professional athlete to give back,'' said Baryla. ''While we might be thousands of miles away, this terrible tragedy has affected us all and I encourage everyone to do what they can to support the people of Japan.''The 28-year-old holds his PGA Tour card but has missed the cut in all six events he's entered this season. Baryla is a former winner on the Nationwide Tour.
