Decision Soon on Sports Facility

Sports facilityWe could know later this month if the plan for a new sports facility in Coldstream, gets the go ahead.  The agricultural land commission will visit the ten acre site next to Okanagan College March 16th. Coldstream administrator Mike Stamhuis says the panel may make a decision on allowing non farm use,  that day, or soon after. The 7.8 million dollar facility would include a Olympic sized running track and playing field. If approved, it could go to a Greater Vernon referendum sometime this year.

Meantime, the historic O'Keefe Ranch won't be getting funding from the District of Coldstream this year. Council rejected the cash-strapped ranch's request for a five thousand dollar grant, without any debate.
