OTTAWA — Treasury Board President Stockwell Day is going to close the door on politics, bringing to an end a career that has spanned a quarter of a century and one that has taken him through provincial and federal legislatures. “After 14 years in provincial government and almost 11 years at the federal level it is time to move on,” Day said in statement issued Saturday. “I hereby announce that I will not be seeking re-election at the end of this mandate.” On March 17, St. Patrick’s Day, Day will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of his first nomination to public office.
