Work to upgrade the Highway 97, Highway 6 intersection, at the bottom of hospital hill, is expected to begin in the next week. Transportation Ministry spokesperson Reid Drummond says the construction firm that will carry out the five-million-dollar project has to first come up with a traffic management plan. The intersection is one of the busiest in Vernon. He says an exact start date won't be known until next week.
