MoneySense Magazine is out with its list of Canada's best places to live. Cities were rated based on home affordability, climate, prosperity, crime rates, access to health care and lifestyle, Vernon was #49, with Salmon Arm 48th, Kelowna 121 and Penticton 133 . Ottawa was number one, followed by Victoria.

In the 2010 Survey by this Ranking Magazine Vernon was in 36th place, Kelowna was in 115th and Penticton was in 130th. Kamloops that was 61th in 2010 and is 106th in 2011.

Interesting.
Victoria is know for its gardens, both public and nprivate. Much of the city feels like a park.
Will watering our gardens soon be a luxury?

We are going downhill and with the present council we will get to the bottom very soon.Cost of housing puts us in a better position than Kelowna,but ours even though expensive,is lower because of our poor economy and the loss of jobs in the area-some of which have gone to Kelowna
Forgot the most important reason for Vernon's high score: Mayor Lippert and his Council!
