It was a crap shoot that paid off for staff at the Lake City Casino chain. They've ratified a new, three year contract through September of 2013. BCGEU rep Brian Gardiner says they picked up contract language improvements, and wage hikes. Depending on the job description the first year will give wage hikes from two to 4 percent, the last two are 2 percent each. There are about 400 workers employed, 87 in Vernon, the rest at casinos in Penticton, Kelowna and Kamloops.
