Fatheads' Fire Labelled Suspicious, Says Vernon Deputy Fire Chief - Police called into help with probe

The RCMP have been called in to assist in the Vernon fire department's investigation of the weekend blaze at Fatheads Coffee shop on 15th Street in East Hill. ``We've had some new evidence introduced into the case that we weren't aware of,'' explains deputy fire chief Lawrie Skolrood. ``It's elevated it to a suspicious fire now.'' Skolrood refuses to provide details but says a number of sources have come forward. He still has no damage estimate. The department stated earlier this week that the fire had been caused by an electrical fault. ``There is a considerable amount of damage and that still hasn't been ruled out,'' says Skolrood, adding, ``there is some evidence that really suggests some other possibilities and that's now under investigation.''
