(Unweighted Corporate Vote – Simple Majority) That Greater Vernon Parks, Recreation and Culture Service Conversion and Service Establishment Amendment Bylaw No. 2489, 2011 be given First, Second and Third readings and be forwarded for consent of the participants.

6.    Greater Vernon Parks, Recreation and Culture – Service Review
-    Letter dated March 25, 2011 from Director Macnabb -    Letter dated December 16, 2010 from the City of Vernon
RECOMMENDATION 12  Page 063
  • (Unweighted Corporate Vote – Simple Majority) That the report dated March 28, 2011 from the Administrator regarding Notice of Formal Service Review for the Greater Vernon Parks, Recreation and Culture Service be received; and further,
  • That a formal conclusion to the existing Parks, Recreation and Culture Service Review, which was originally initiated on January 11, 2007 and re-initiated on July 11, 2007, be endorsed; and further,
  • That the letter dated March 25, 2011 from Electoral Area “C” Director Mike Macnabb, providing notice of his intention to initiate a formal Service Review for Greater Vernon Parks, Recreation and Culture in accordance with Section 813.04 of the Local Government Act be received; and further,
  • That the scheduling of the preliminary meeting of a Greater Vernon Parks, Recreation and Culture Service Review Committee be approved at a time, mutually agreeable to all parties, within the weeks of May 23 – June 3, 2011; and further,
  • That the participants in the service, namely the City of Vernon, the District of Coldstream, and Electoral Areas “B” and “C” each be requested to appoint a representative to the Greater Vernon Parks, Recreation and Culture Service Review Committee; and further,
  • That the letter dated December 16, 2010 from the City of Vernon regarding GVPRC Service Review be forwarded to the Greater Vernon Parks, Recreation and Culture Service Review Committee.
