Vernon Men Face Trial On Drugs Charges In Saskatchewan's Court of Queen's Bench - Preliminary hearing in big cocaine seizure case wraps up in Swift Current

Two Vernon men are expected to face trial this fall in a case that made headlines across Western Canada due to a multi-million dollar cocaine seizure in Saskatchewan. Brock Palfrey and Troy Swanson, both 24, are charged with possession of illegal drugs for the purpose of trafficking. A four-day preliminary hearing wrapped up in a Swift Current courtroom Thursday. A court clerk says the matter is being sent for trial in the Court of Queen's Bench. Although no date has been set, she says it is expected to take place in September or October. A cross-province investigation ended with the seizure of 151 kilograms of cocaine from a vehicle outside Swift Current in March of last year.
