Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for highway passes in the Southern Interior -- including the Highway 97C connector. The statement says a cold and moist airmass associated with a developing low pressure system has moved into the Southern Interior and Kootenay regions Wednesday morning.  This colder airmass will bring snow levels down to about 1400 metres. As a result wet snow is expected above 1400 meters through interior highway passes including the Okanagan Connector - Merritt to Kelowna and Highway 3 - Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass where accumulations of 5 to 15 cm are likely.Precipitation is expected to continue in the Okanagan until the weekend.
