Update: 4:43PM
Smoke on the water this afternoon in Coldstream, along with flames. An 18 foot fibreglass power boat was totalled in a fire on Kalamalka Lake near the Kalavista boat launch. Coldstream fire chief Dave Sturgeon tells KISS FM they used several docks to spray the boat down. He says there were several injuries. "Three occupants of the boat were sent to hospital with what seemed like minor burns. They're getting checked out, and the boat owner had burns on his arms but he seems to be okay."Sturgeon says it may have been caused by a gas leak or fumes from the gasoline igniting.

Update: 4pm
A boat was damaged during a fire on Kalamalka Lake this afternoon. Details are sketchy but we know it happened near the Kalavista boat launch in Coldstream just before 3. Police, fire, ambulance and search and rescue attended. The boat sustained significant but unspecified damage, and apparently had to be towed from the scene. There were reports some people suffered minor burns but police spokesman Gord Molendyk was not aware of any injuries at this point.
