Chetwynd starts the clean up after major flooding

Video:  This raw video is CHET TV in Chetwyn
The water is receding in the community Chetwynd after heavy flooding Saturday.  According to Peace FM, heavy equipment was used Saturday to divert the water and prevent any further damage to buildings. There are several sinkholes around the community and the south access road is closed for repairs to the main water line for the community. Crews are still working to clear debris from other parts of the south access road.  At one point Saturday a vac truck fell into a sinkhole. So far there have been no reports of any injuries.  There is no estimate on the amount of damage to businesses and homes in the community. We have not been able to contact anyone with the District of Chetwynd to get more information. If you have any further information about the damage in Chetwynd and how other people in the Peace can help, email contact@energeticcity.ca
