Vernon Fire and Rescue will be celebrating their 120 birthday this Saturday June 18. The crew will be recognized for the years of fire service to the City of Vernon. There will be an open house from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at the Fire Station at 3401 30th Street. The event will feature historical displays for viewing, and an auto-extrication demonstration will take place at 2:00 p.m. Sparky the Fire Dog will also be in attendance, and refreshments will be available by donation, with proceeds going to the Hospice House.
