City's Casino Revenue Share Up But Not By Much - MLA's salary, expenses reported by comptroller general

Revenue is up by over a million dollars at Lake City Casino in Vernon. According to the BC Lottery Corporation, the casino grossed in $36,443,000 from its 406 slot machines and electronic table games in the 2010-11 fiscal year ending March 31st. The City of Vernon's share was 2,087,000. That's an increase of only eight grand from the year before.

Ever wonder what your MLA makes? BC's comptroller-general has released the 2010-11 public accounts. They show Vernon-Monashee MLA Eric Foster pulled in approximately $117,000 in the fiscal year ending March 31st. That includes his allowance as deputy whip. Foster claimed $24,000 for travel to and from his riding and $21,000 for a living expense allowance specifically for MLAs who don't live in the Victoria area.
