No End To Water Notice

Duteau_Creek_Treatment_PlantGreater Vernon's Duteau Creek water source continues to have issues with its quality.  RDNO says the precautionary advisory on the source impacting 15,000 customers, will remain until further notice. Water quality manager Renee Clark says extra seasonal water sources are being used, due to irrigation demand, resulting in higher turbidity and fair water quality.  "These seasonal sources are only chlorinated before entering the distribution system....and turbidity at times exceeds 1.0 NTU. Greater Vernon Water has been actively monitoring the water quality and all bacterial tests have been clear."  She says until the colour and turbidity return to normal, young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may want to drink boiled or bottled water.
