Snowmobiler Rescued

Vernon search rescueEven though it's July, there are still people snowmobiling in the North Okanagan, and one of them got hurt this weekend. Vernon Search and Rescue Members were called out at 7 Saturday night by the RCMP and BC Ambulance to help in the rescue of an injured snowmobiler in Hunter's Range near Enderby.  A man was injured in an accident while out snowmobiling with friends.  Search manager Leigh Pearson says the SAR members responded with snowmobiles and met a friend of the injured male who took them into the area.  "Due to the injuries, a helicopter was brought in and airlifted three of the SAR members to the scene where they administered first aid and packaged the patient in a stretcher for transport to the hospital. Other SAR Members rode into the scene on snowmobiles as back-up in case the helicopter could not land or daylight ran out."  No word at this point what injuries the man suffered.
