Even though it's July, there are still people snowmobiling in the North Okanagan, and one of them got hurt this weekend. Vernon Search and Rescue Members were called out at 7 Saturday night by the RCMP and BC Ambulance to help in the rescue of an injured snowmobiler in Hunter's Range near Enderby. A man was injured in an accident while out snowmobiling with friends. Search manager Leigh Pearson says the SAR members responded with snowmobiles and met a friend of the injured male who took them into the area. "Due to the injuries, a helicopter was brought in and airlifted three of the SAR members to the scene where they administered first aid and packaged the patient in a stretcher for transport to the hospital. Other SAR Members rode into the scene on snowmobiles as back-up in case the helicopter could not land or daylight ran out." No word at this point what injuries the man suffered.Monday, July 04, 2011
