A regional politician is frustrated at the city of Vernon's latest move in the long running review of parks. BX Silver Star director Mike Macnabb says Vernon has no interest in changing the structure despite concerns from the three other participants. "Their council resolution essentially closed the door on any further negotiations and I don't know what to do at this point." There's also concerns about the future voting structure, and Macnabb says all participants have to have a meaningful say at the table. "If the vote goes the way we think it will through census, Vernon will have another representative on the board and they will control everything." Vernon mayor Wayne Lippert says the city wants to put off talks until after the November elections, as directors around the table could change. He also says there's no sense getting concerned about the voting structure until the new census data is compiled. Director Patrick Nicol says RDNO paid mediator Allan Neilson Welch 86-thousand dollars to try and resolve the dispute.
