Residents in the Lavington area are being advised of a cougar sighting. A citizen of that area tells KISS FM she saw one of the big cats near Bessette Road and Lavington Way by Lavington Community Park around 10:30 Monday night. Signs advising of the animal will be posted in the park , and the Conservation Office has been notified. The cougar was said to be getting set to pounce on a pet cat at the time it was seen, but was scared off by a woman flashing her vehicle lights at it.
