The public will keep putting pressure on Victoria for more bed funding at Vernon's hospital. Resident Peter Hill is planning another rally outside the new Polson Tower on Labour Day. About 200 showed up for one on Canada Day. Hill says they want to let the government know the over-crowding issue hasn't gone away. He says " The official opening is meant to be taking place .late September, so this is just about three weeks before that." Hill says several local politicians will be invited to speak at the event, including Shuswap MLA George Abbott who has said in the past he's not sure more beds are needed.
