Texting driver flips out

The driver of a red Plymouth sedan learned the hard way what can happen when you text and drive. The 33 -year -old Kelowna resident was travelling on Richter Street near Doyle Avenue at 7 p.m. Thursday night, when her vehicle veered in to the driver's side wheel of a stationary utility trailer.
The Plymouth, who witnesses said was traveling at the posted speed of 50 kmh, rolled onto it's roof and skidded to a stop.   The female driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was uninjured but shaken up and later admitted to police that she was sending a text message at the time of the collision. She was issued a $167 ticket under the Motor Vehicle Act for Texting While Driving. Police are reminding motorists that incidents such as this one, or worse, can happen to anyone who drives while distracted and encourages you to keep your focus on the road.
