There's a hole in my boat, dear Liza

A mishap on Okanagan Lake has left a boat owner with a jet-ski shaped hole in his $250,000 antique boat.  RCMP Const. Steve Holmes says that at 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 21, a person was trying to start their Kawasaki personal water craft near the boat launch on Okanagan Centre Road.  "They got it started -- but the throttle was engaged and it took off unoccupied at a high rate of speed," says Holmes. It then struck and became embedded in an unoccupied 27-foot boat that was moored to a buoy. "This boat is valued at a quarter of a million dollars." Holmes says there was no intent to cause the collision and the incident was just reported for information only. It is unknown if the antique boat was insured.
