Tourist drowns on Shuswap River

Police say one woman drowned on the Shuswap River during a tubing accident near Enderby, B.C., Sunday afternoon. The woman, whose name has not been released, was part of a group of English tourists. Olivia Parase with Enderby's River Ambassadors said the group's tubes were punctured when they were swept into a log jam.If the tourists had checked with officials, Parase said, they would have been told that part of the river is unsafe."We have unseasonably high water this year and the river is faster and higher than normal and so at these swifter parts you can get swept into sticks and fallen branches, which are called sweepers," Parase said."That is probably what they hit and what popped their tube."
Four others from the group were successfully rescued.

RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk says the woman was located a short time later. Emergency officials on the scene attempted CPR,  but they were unable to revive her. Whoever wrote this article, should get their facts straight in respect of her family and friends. At least when it was release on castanet it was accurate. An english tourist, not. She's from Kelowna. We were the one's that called 911. If you wanted recognition for this, you didn't get it from the 20 of us and set the story staight to many.
