43rd Avenue (32nd Street to 27th Street) Proposed Road Diet"

The City of Vernon has made application under a grant program to undertake a project directed at increasing road safety and expanding the accessibility for cyclists through the provision of bike lanes.

City of Vernon Council has approved the application for 100% funding of this project through the Gas Tax Program. Councils’ resolution at the time of application was that no decision on the commencement of the project would be made by Council until such time as grant approval had been made from the Gas Tax Program.

An information session was held on September 20th, 2011 to inform adjacent business owners, about the proposed project, and answer questions, and gather comments from those in attendance. As communicated to those in attendance, all input received during that information session will be presented to City Council at the October 11th, 2011 Council meeting. Wherein Mayor, and Council, will consider all comments received concerning this project. No decision has been made on the funding of this project from the Gas Tax program.
