It
appears that customers on the Kal Lake water source will remain on a
boil water notice until at least Monday. That's the word from the North
Okanagan Regional District's engineering manager. Arnold Badke says that
although some tests have come back negative over the past few days,
staff are still negotiating with Interior Health about when to reduce
the notice to an advisory or end it completely. Badke stresses that
there is no indication of e-coli in the water. He blames the high
bacterial count on the large growth of calcium carbonate much later in
the summer than normal.
