The
North Okanagan Regional District is in the process of hiring a criminal
lawyer, according to administrator Trafford Hall. This follow charges
being sworn against NORD in connection with the Antwerp Springs water
contamination of January, 2010. Hall admits the charges are a blow and
could could prove costly. Also charged are the District of Coldstream,
Pan-O-Ramic Farms Limited and owner Earnest Rodney Palfrey. All four are
expected to make a first appearance in court in October. Coldstream's
administrator says the municipality is also seeking legal advice.
