Boil Water Notice Continues Until Further Notice As a precaution, all customers who receive water from Kalamalka Lake water supply, including most customers in the City of Vernon and in some areas of the District of Coldstream, are on a Boil Water Notice due to water quality test results in the water distribution system.  The UV disinfection process has been good and chlorine levels have been increased. The utility is responding to this issue by increased use of the Duteau Creek water source and by further monitoring and analysis of the Kalamalka Lake supply. Sampling of the water is on- going.  What does Boil Water Notice mean? This means that all customers should exercise caution and should boil the water for one  minute when using the water for the following consumption purposes: •    drinking    •    making beverages or ice  •    washing fruits and vegetables    •    brushing teeth
