Students Say Bus Is Jammed - More UBCO busses needed

It may already be time for yet another bus to UBC-O Okanagan. Last year, the City of Vernon ensured a second bus was put on the route. However Mayor Wayne Lippert says he's been getting e-mails from students complaining they are now both packed. The buses are set up for standing room but Lippert says students are reporting they are jammed in right from the back up beside the driver. He says it could be a safety issue. Lippert hopes to work with regional partners to ensure a third bus is on the unversity route by September, 2012.

Students are people too! Why don't they put the Double Decker Bus in service on this route. Also students need to commute to and from the University on the weekend, how come the bus does not run between the University and Vernon at least once a day on the weekend? As it is now you can only catch the bus to Lake Country on the weekend - then call parents or hitchhike home....
dangerous and depressing. We would not want to treat students like they matter, would we?

Buses are like highways the more you build the more cars will use them.

But in the case of Students, the fares should equate a reasonable rate and not be entirely subsidized by the public.

Students get subsidized loans and have no reservation spending $2 to $3 for a cup of coffee/Laite or whatever.
