It's a good opportunity for the politicians to get out and meet the public."  Former Okanagan Shuswap M-P and co-organizer Darrel Stinson says the candidates have been asked to donate a half hour of time, to sell books.  "It's to bring all the candidates in the Vernon election to help out the Special Olympics, and it gives people a chance to talk to the candidates at the same time."  Organizer John Topping says they normally hold a hot dog poll around election time, but not this year.  "This is different. We like to change things up and I think more people will be involved. If there are people who would like to donate books, because every book has been donated, just give me a call (250 545 1287).  The book sale will be held November 17 to 19 at the Village Green Centre, right around election time on the 19th. Over 10,000 books will be up for sale. Special Olympics BC Vernon provides high quality sports programs for more than 130 individuals of all ages with intellectual disabilities.
