There is labour peace at Vernon City Hall. The city and it's 150 civic workers, members of CUPE local 626, have ratified a new deal that runs until the end of 2013. The workers get a 1.5 percent wage hike for each year of the deal. Administrator Leon Gous
says the terms are similar to other municipal settlements in the Okanagan Valley. The city has also reached a tentative deal with its firefighters union, but that still has to be ratified by both sides.
