Three days down---six to go. That's the situation for candidates considering a run for councils,
school boards and regional districts on voting day November 19th. Incumbent Vernon councillors Mary Jo O'Keefe and Bob Spiers were the latest to file Thursday, upping the list to six. Sixteen people took out councillor nomination packages. Rob Sawatzky and Wayne Lippert are the contenders for mayor, although three other people took out nomination papers. The North Okanagan Regional District's Area F will have a race to
replace Herman Halvorson in rural Enderby, as Herman Gerrits and Jackie
Pearase have entered. Coldstream and Spallumcheen have yet to see any nominations.The deadline for candidates is October 14.
