Escaped inmate identified


The inmate who escaped from a prison work detail operating outside the fenced perimeter of Kamloops Regional Corrections Center around 9:30 am today is identified as Steven Michael HODGINS (B:1989-January-14) of Kamloops.

Hodgins is described as being a white male with a freckled complexion, about 5’ 8” tall, weighing 162 pounds, with short brown hair and blue eyes. A recent image of Hodgins accompanies this release.  Hodgins is characterized as a prolific property crime offender who does not have a history of violence against people. The public are still urged to be vigilant and to not make any attempt to capture this person. Any person providing assistance or support to an escaped prisoner is also subject to potential criminal prosecution for aiding and abetting a criminal offense.  Anyone with information regarding the location of this suspect is asked to contact their local police in jurisdiction or call Crimestoppers.
