Glad to see council effectively reconsidered it's position of June 13,2011 to allow staff to implement 43rd ave road diet if 100% of project amount Of $868,000 was received from the Gas tax innovation fund. However rather than make a decision to scrap the project they deferred the decision until a staff report was brought back after the election. I voted against this project on June 13th and would have wanted a decision made now as proposed by coun. Nicol and gilroy. If we had decided this now, we could have advised the Feds of our withdrawal of that grant application and perhaps allowed other of our grant applications move up the list. Road diets may be useful and valid in certain areas. This is not the area where a road diet should happen. No to a 43rd ave road diet.
