Nomination - Day 1 - One N Ok community doesn't even have enough packages out for the positions

There's a bit of a problem in the Township of Spallumcheen. As of Tuesday, only four people had taken out papers to run for the six councillor positions. Deputy returning officer Caylee Simmons says it is possible the Township could extend the Oct 14th nomination deadline and take out ads. Two people are running for mayor, including the current incumbent Will Hansma, who has been mayor of Spall for five terms.

In Vernon, Wayne Lippert and Rob Sawatzky filed for Mayor, with four people in for council on day one. Meanwhile, the City of Armstrong says it has handed out 7 mayor/council packages. In Enderby, eight nomination papers have gone out. Coldstream's election officer says only one nomination paper has been picked up however nominations can also be downloaded online.
