The parties accused of mishandling part of Greater Vernon's water system have been given more time to prepare their cases. The Regional District of North Okanagan, District of Coldstream,
Pan-O-Ramic Farms and farm owner Rod Palfrey, made first court
appearances Thursday in Vernon. They each face four charges after
a foreign substance--thought to be animal waste--got into the Antwerp
Spring source in January 2010. It lead to a 'Do Not Drink' water order, for more than a thousand Coldstream homes, for more than a week. The
charges under the water protection and environment acts have been put
over until December 15th, when an arraignment hearing is scheduled.
