Forums focusing on the candidates for the Vernon School Board will be held the next two nights.  Tonight, it's the seven hopefuls seeking the four seats in Vernon, and Areas B and C.  They will be at the Schubert Centre in Vernon at 7, taking questions.  Kevin Bader will be the moderator.  The candidates are John Armstrong, Mollie Bono, Steve Connor, Jim Hart, Tami Ryder, Kelly Smith, and Perry Wainright.  The three candidates running for the two Lumby, and Areas D and E
seats, Mitzi Fortin, Paula Harned, and Doris Squair  will be at the
Lumby Community Hall at  7 tomorrow night.  Devon Tyssen will moderate the Lumby forum. Coldstream's trustee, long time board chairman Bill Turanski, was unchallenged for the position.  The forums are sponsored by the Vernon Teachers Association and District Parent Advisory Council.  VTA president Bruce Cummings says the forums are a way to educate and encourage voters to participate in the election of trustees.  He says, "Voters should know that the Vernon School District has a
budget of over $80 million, and makes a significant impact to the local
economy." Voting for school trustees takes place at the same time as the municipal elections on Saturday, November 19th.

When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)
