A new facility is providing improved drinking water for 400 homes and businesses at Silver Star Mountain Resort. The Regional District of North Okanagan says the one million dollar
project adds ultra-violet treatment to the existing chlorination of the
resort's potable water. Outgoing board chair Herman Halvorson (pictured) says with thousands of tourists visiting Silver Star every year, it's important to provide the safest water possible. The federal and provincial governments also partnered on the funding. Vernon Monashee MLA Eric Foster says the residents and guests at the
resort deserve access to clean, safe water, adding you can't put a price
on that.
