BC Transit is looking at options to reduce the crowded conditions on buses from Vernon to UBCO in Kelowna. Transit president Manuel Achadinha --- who was in Vernon last week---says relief should not be too far off. "There a couple different options we're looking at, one is adding an
additional bus. the other is changing the type of vehicle we use, so one
of the options we've tested in the last few months is a double decker,
can it actually run the route? And it's gone quite well in the testing." Achadinha says a double decker bus would accommodate 74 riders, double what a normal bus has. The two buses currently used on the route are usually packed with
students, especially in the mornings, and some have been turned away.---------
